The Pre Bachelor in Education/Pre Diploma in Elementary Education Entrance Exam (PSSOU Pre B.Ed Entrance Exam) is conducted by Pt. Sundarlal Sharma Open University (PSSOU) at the university level. This entrance exam serves as the gateway for admission to the B.Ed program offered by PSSOU in Chhattisgarh. To participate in the PSSOU Pre B.Ed exam, prospective candidates must ensure timely registration before the specified deadline. Subsequently, they can download the admit card for the entrance exam.

Eligibility Criteria

For B.Ed Admission

According to NCTE guidelines, the following criteria determine eligibility for admission to B.Ed. ODL:
Candidates must achieve a minimum of 50% marks in their graduation/post-graduation exams, with specific requirements for different fields (minimum 50% marks in science/social science/humanities and 55% marks in engineering with a specialization in science and mathematics).
Candidates from Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste/OBC/Disabled backgrounds will receive a relaxation of at least 5% marks, while all female candidates will also receive a 5% mark relaxation in their graduation scores.
Serving teachers must have completed any elementary education course such as D.El.Ed./D.Ed./B.T.I./B.T.C./D.P.E. and be employed in a school within Chhattisgarh.
Non-serving teachers must have completed a recognized teacher education course in a traditional (face-to-face) format approved by the NCTE.
Applicants must be working as full-time teachers in a primary/pre-secondary/secondary/higher secondary school recognized by the Chhattisgarh Government at the time of application.
Relaxations in marks and seat reservations for Scheduled Tribes/Scheduled Castes/OBCs/Disabled individuals will adhere to the rules set forth by the Chhattisgarh State Government’s Higher Education Department.

For D.El.Ed Admission

According to NCTE standards, the following criteria establish eligibility:
Candidates must attain a minimum of 50% marks in their Higher Secondary or equivalent examination. However, for Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste/OBC/Disabled candidates, a minimum of 45% marks is required. Additionally, all female candidates must secure at least 45% marks in their 12th-grade exams.
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a primary/pre-secondary/secondary school recognized by the Chhattisgarh Government. This teaching experience must be completed by the candidate’s admission date, and the candidate must presently be engaged in teaching. Admission will be refused if the candidate’s experience is less than 2 years, and no refund of fees will be provided.
At the time of application, candidates must be employed as full-time teachers in a primary/pre-secondary/secondary school recognized by the Chhattisgarh Government.
Relaxations in marks and seat reservations for Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste/OBC/Disabled and other specified categories will adhere to the regulations of the Chhattisgarh State Government’s Higher Education Department.

Application Process

The application form can be accessed through the official site of PSSOU Pre B.Ed & D.El.Ed. The Application Process will be done through Online Mode. Before applying for the PSSOU Pre B.Ed & D.El.Ed 2025.

First of all, Candidates have to go to the official website of Pandit Sundarlal Sharma (Open) University https://pssou.ac.in/
Click on the ‘Apply Online’ link.
Submit all the personal and Academic Details which are required.
Candidate is required to fill his/her name, date of birth, contact number etc.
After filling all the information, the application number of the candidates will be generated, after which the candidates can proceed to fill the payment.
Printout of e-receipt should be taken after filling the payment
The candidate must ensure that the personal details and documentation are complete and correct.
If any reasons the details which you fill in are incorrect or incomplete then your application form will not be accepted by the Official Authority.

Application Fee

The Application Fee can be paid through Online Mode. After Completion of the Application, the Form Candidate has to pay through Debit/Credit Card. Once you deposit the fee will not be refundable of any condition.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on a written test and 10/12th merit.

Exam Pattern

The exam pattern is as follows

Mode of Exam – The exam is a Offline test.
Question type – The questions are MCQs.
Number of Questions – There are 100 questions in the entrance exam.
Total Marks – Maximum marks in the exam is 100.
Exam Duration – The entrance exam is of 2 hours 15 minutes.

Marking Scheme –

Candidates get +1 marks for correct answer.
And negative marks is 0 for incorrect answers
