NMAT Percentiles
The NMAT Percentile is a metric that represents a candidate’s relative performance in the NMAT exam compared to other test-takers. It is calculated by determining the percentage of candidates who scored lower than you in the exam. For example, if your NMAT Percentile is 80, it means that you performed better than 80% of the test-takers.
NMAT Percentile is crucial for the selection process of many management and graduate programs. It helps institutions assess a candidate’s performance in a standardized manner, making it easier to shortlist and admit students based on their NMAT scores.
It’s important to note that NMAT Percentile can vary from year to year, depending on the performance of all test-takers in a specific year. Therefore, candidates must strive for a competitive percentile to enhance their chances of securing admission to their desired programs.
NMAT Selection Process
The NMAT Selection Process involves multiple stages and is dependent on the school’s specific requirements. After the initial shortlisting by the business schools, candidates may be required to participate in additional rounds, such as group discussions, personal interviews, and written essays.
Stage 1: The NMAT 2026 test is a mandatory requirement for applying to various NMIMS University programs, including MBA in multiple locations, MBA HR in Mumbai, MBA Business Analytics in Mumbai, MBA (Digital Transformation) in Mumbai, and MBA Pharmaceutical Management in Mumbai. GMAC electronically submits the NMAT scores to NMIMS.
Stage 2: Shortlisting of applicants who have applied to NMIMS programs is based on NMAT 2026 sectional and total scores. Call letters are made available on the candidate’s dashboard. NMIMS manages the second stage of the selection process, which may include a psychometric test, Written Analytical test, and Personal Interview, with details provided later. This stage is conducted in person, and candidates are required to carry their NMAT 2026 by GMAC scorecard. Call letters are not sent via email or post.
Weightage: The selection process also takes into account academic performance and work experience. The final merit list is determined by considering NMAT 2026 scores, personal interview performance, Written Analytical Test (WAT), psychometric test results, work experience, and past academic records.
Selection Criteria: Selection is solely based on merit, and NMIMS establishes the merit list cutoff. For candidates who have applied to multiple programs or campuses, selection is determined by their merit score, program preferences, and seat availability in the respective program. NMIMS’ decisions in this regard are considered final and binding.
In summary, NMAT 2026 serves as the initial stage for applying to NMIMS programs, and shortlisted candidates proceed to a second stage involving various assessment components. The selection process takes into account academic performance and work experience, ultimately resulting in the creation of a final merit list. NMIMS has the authority to set the merit cutoff and make the final selection decisions for candidates applying to multiple programs.
