MICAT Syllabus
Marking Scheme and Types of Questions
The MICAT Syllabus incorporates both objective and descriptive questions. According to the exam pattern for MICAT, there will be a deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer in the following sections: Verbal Ability (VA), General Awareness (GA), Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QADI), as well as Divergent and Convergent Thinking (DCR).
It's important to note that the Psychometric section and the Descriptive section will not be subjected to negative marking. Candidates should be aware of this marking scheme to strategize their approach for the different sections of the MICAT examination.
MICAT Syllabus Subject Wise
Psychometric Test
This is essentially a personality test and this section is different from other management entrance examinations. Every candidate must attempt all the questions in this section. The following are some important aspects of the test.
- The questions in this section are intended to evaluate the candidates' behaviour including their thinking abilities, personality traits, strengths, and weaknesses. They are based on career goals, life goals, and situational judgement. Applicants should answer these questions honestly and openly.
- Multiple-choice questions are asked.
- Duration allotted for the psychometric test is 30 minutes.
- According to sample papers from previous years, in the first set of questions candidates should select the option which best describes their behaviour out of three options.
- In the second set of MICAT questions, candidates were asked to rate their answers according to their priority under a certain scenario, on a scale of 1 to 6.
- Around 8 to 10 questions were asked in the entrance exam.
