Seat Allocation
The successful candidates of JEE Advanced are eligible for admission to various undergraduate programs, including Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch), and Dual Degree programs at the IITs and some other prestigious institutes.
Eligibility
To be eligible for JEE Advanced, candidates must first qualify the JEE Main examination. They must be among the top 2,50,000 (including all categories) rank holders in JEE Main.
The percentages of various categories of candidates to be shortlisted are: 10% for GEN-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and the remaining 40.5% is OPEN for all. Within each of these five categories, 5% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates.
The following table shows the order to be followed while choosing the top 2,50,000 candidates in various categories based on the performance in B.E./B.Tech. paper of JEE (Main) 2025.
A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
Candidates who had appeared in Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2021 or earlier, are NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025, irrespective of the combination of subjects attempted/offered.

⚖️ Eligibility Criteria
To sit for JEE Advanced 2026, you must meet all of the following:
- JEE Main Performance: You must be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all categories) in Paper 1 of JEE Main 2026.
- Age Limit: Born on or after October 1, 2001 (5-year relaxation for SC/ST/PwD).
- Number of Attempts: You can attempt the exam a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.
