The Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad (IIT Dharwad or IIT DH) is a young and upcoming institute established in 2016. It is an autonomous engineering and technology institute located in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. IIT Dharwad is one of the many IITs overseen by the Indian Institutes of Technology Act, giving it the status of an “Institute of National Importance.”
IIT Dharwad began operations in July 2016 on a temporary campus. The permanent campus, inaugurated in March 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is touted as the first green and smart IIT campus in India.

Eligibility
Admission to IIT Dharwad is highly competitive. To be eligible for admission to the undergraduate B.Tech programs, you must qualify the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and JEE Advanced exams. JEE Advanced is considered one of the toughest engineering entrance exams in India.

Admission Process
Admissions to IIT Dharwad undergraduate programs are done through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process. If you qualify for JEE Advanced, you will be eligible to participate in the JoSAA counselling where you will be able to indicate your preferences for IITs and other institutes based on your JEE Advanced rank.
