HP PAT 2026 Exam Date

Eligibility Criteria:

The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to 1st-year Engineering, Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Fashion & Design, Architecture Assistantship, Fashion Designing & Garments Technology, and Film Technology & TV Production (Film Processing) Diploma courses in Govt./Private Polytechnics of Himachal Pradesh is that the candidate must have passed the 10th standard with 35% marks at the qualifying exam from a recognized Board/University or its equivalent. Candidates who have appeared in the Matriculation Exam are also eligible to appear in the test provisionally. However, their eligibility shall be verified at the time of counseling by the central admission selection committee.

Application Process:

Online Application Forms for eligible candidates are invited through the website www.hptechboard.com. Desirous eligible applicants are invited to fill online applications for seeking admission in Engineering Diploma Courses in the HP State Polytechnic (Govt. and Private) for the Admission Session 2026-27, for which the H.P. Takniki Shiksha Board will conduct the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT-2026).

HP PAT Exam Pattern

The exam pattern was as follows

• Mode of Exam – The exam  is a Offline test.
• Question type – The questions are Objective Type.
• Number of Questions – There are 150 questions in the entrance exam.
• Total Marks – Maximum marks in the exam is 600.
• Exam Duration – The entrance exam is of 3 hours.
• Language of Question Paper – The question paper is in language English and Hindi for Maths, Physics, Chemistry.

Marking Scheme – 

• Candidates get +4 marks for correct answer.
• And negative marks is -1 for incorrect answers
