The Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board has issued the notification for the Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test (CG TET) 2024, aiming to recruit teachers for both Lower Primary (Class I to V) and Upper Primary (Class VI to VIII) levels. Eligibility Criteria
For Teaching in Classes I to V:
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks or a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE Regulations, 2002.
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
For Paper-II (Class VI-VIII):
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) in Pedagogy or a 2-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) in accordance with the NCTE Regulations.
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/ B.Sc.Ed.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and completion or enrollment in a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education) program.
Application Procedure
- Application form for CG Teacher Eligibility Test 2024 is available from March 07, 2024, at https://vyapam.cgstate.gov.in/
- Chhattisgarh Professional Exam Board has released the application form online mode only.
- Applicants should ensure their eligibility criteria before filling the application form and read the important mandatory point.

Fee for One Paper
- General : Rs 350/-
- OBC : Rs 250/-
- SC/ST/PwD : Rs 200/-
Fee for Both Papers
- General : Rs 600/-
- OBC : Rs 400/-
- SC/ST/PwD: Rs 300/-
Selection Process
The CG TET selection process consists of three stages that every candidate must successfully complete to be appointed as a teacher within the Chhattisgarh state.
i. Candidates are selected based on their performance in the entrance exam.
ii. Shortlisting of candidates is done according to the marks obtained in the entrance exam.
iii. To secure a teaching position, candidates must undergo the teacher recruitment exam followed by an interview process.
CG TET 2024 Exam Pattern
- Here’s the CG TET Exam Pattern for both Primary level (Class I- V) and Upper Primary level (Class VI- VIII):
- Exam Mode: The exam will be conducted in Offline mode, which means it will be a Pen and Paper-based test.
- Paper Language: The paper will be bilingual, available in both English and Hindi languages.
- Marks: Both Paper-I and Paper-II will be of 150 marks each.
- Time Duration: Candidates will be given 2½ hours to complete either Paper-I or Paper-II.
- Marking Scheme: There will be no negative marking in the CG TET exam.
- Type of Questions: The exam will consist of Objective type questions, commonly known as Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each question will carry 1 mark.
Paper 1
- Child Development and Pedagogy – 30 Questions – 30 Marks
- Language I (compulsory) – 30 Questions – 30 Marks
- Language II (compulsory) – 30 Questions – 30 Marks
- Mathematics – 30 Questions – 30 Marks
- Environmental Studies – 30 Questions – 30 Marks
- Total: – 150 Questions – 150 Marks
Paper 2
- Child Development and Pedagogy – 30 Questions – 30 Marks
- Language I (compulsory) – 30 Questions – 30 Marks
- Language II (compulsory) – 30 Questions – 30 Marks
- Teaching Subject – 60 Questions – 60 Marks
