Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) is a young and prominent state-run technical university located in Jalukbari, Guwahati, Assam, India. Established in 2010 by the Assam Government, ASTU is the only premier technical university in North-East India . Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) PhD Admission
Eligibility
- Undergraduate (UG): Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) from a recognized board of education with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
- Postgraduate (PG): Candidates must have passed Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
- PhD: Candidates must have passed Master’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized university with at least 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
Application Process
Candidates can apply for ASTU admission online through the university’s website. The following steps are involved in the application process:
- Visit the ASTU website and click on the “Admission” tab.
- Click on the “Apply Now” button and register yourself.
- Fill in the online application form with the required details.
- Upload the necessary documents, such as academic transcripts, mark sheets, caste certificate (if applicable), etc.
- Pay the application fee online.

- UG: Rs. 1000
- PG: Rs. 1500

Selection Process
The selection of candidates for admission to ASTU is based on merit. The merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying examination.
Counseling
After the release of the merit list, candidates will be called for counseling based on their rank. During counseling, candidates will be allocated seats in the various courses and programs offered by the university.
