AP DEECET Syllabus 2026

The syllabus for AP DEECET is divided into five parts:

Part I: General Knowledge and Teaching Aptitude This section tests the candidate’s general knowledge and teaching aptitude. It includes questions on current affairs, general science, social studies, environmental issues and ecology, history and culture of India, and Andhra Pradesh. The teaching aptitude section covers child development, pedagogy of language development, pedagogy of mathematics, pedagogy of environmental studies, and teaching-learning process.

Part II: Mathematics This section tests the candidate’s knowledge of mathematics. It includes questions on number system and operations, fractions, decimals and percentages, geometry and mensuration, algebra and trigonometry, and data interpretation and statistical analysis.

Part III: Physical Science This section tests the candidate’s knowledge of physical science. It includes questions on units and dimensions, mechanics, heat and thermodynamics, acoustics, optics, electricity and magnetism, and modern physics.

Part IV: Biological Science This section tests the candidate’s knowledge of biological science. It includes questions on the cell, tissues and organs, nutrition and digestion, respiration and excretion, nervous system and sense organs, endocrine system, reproductive system, and health and hygiene.

Part V: Social Studies This section tests the candidate’s knowledge of social studies. It includes questions on history and culture of India, geography of India and Andhra Pradesh, civics and citizenship, and economics and development.

The AP DEECET 2026 examination is divided into two distinct parts: Part A (General) and Part B (Subject-Specific). The question paper consists of 100 multiple-choice questions worth 100 marks, with no negative marking.

Part A: General Subjects (60 Marks)

This section assesses fundamentals based on the AP State Syllabus from Class VI to Class X.

Part B: Subject-Specific (40 Marks)

This section tests advanced knowledge based on the Intermediate (10+2) level syllabus. Candidates must choose one of the following streams based on their qualifying subjects in Intermediate.

Key Syllabus Highlights

• Part A (Classes VI–X): Focuses on basic concepts across core subjects, plus specific pedagogy for Teaching Aptitude (e.g., NEP 2020, learning methodologies, and student-teacher relationships).
• Part B (Intermediate Level): Requires in-depth conceptual understanding of the chosen stream. For example:
  • Mathematics: Algebra, Calculus (Differential Equations), Geometry, Mensuration, Statistics.
  • Physical Science: Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Chemical Bonding, Atomic Structure, Equilibrium.
  • Biological Science: Plant Physiology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Animal Diversity, Biotechnology.
  • Social Studies: History (Ancient/Modern/World), Micro/Macro Economics, Indian Government, and Political Processes.

Preparation Strategy

1. Strengthen Fundamentals: Since Part A covers the Class VI–X level, ensure your basic concepts are robust as they form 60% of your total score.
2. Master Your Stream: Part B (40 marks) is highly specific. Focus on the textbooks prescribed by the Board of Intermediate Education, AP.
3. Practice: Solve previous years’ question papers to understand the difficulty level and question patterns.
4. Time Management: With 100 questions to be solved in 150 minutes, allocate your time carefully during the Computer-Based Test (CBT).

AP DEECET

AP DEECET is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Department of School Education for admission to D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) courses in government and private elementary teacher training institutions in Andhra Pradesh.
