About Department of Physics and Electronics
Background, academic mission, and departmental profile
Since inception in the year 1984, the department has constantly and significantly contributed towards teaching and research as a result of this concerted effort, the State Government has accorded the status of ‘Center for Excellence’ to the department in 2010 with a grant of Rs. 1.53 crores.
The department presently offers M.Sc. Physics and M.Sc. Electronics courses with intake of 30 and 20 students respectively. Recognizing its research potential, UGC has identified and financially supported the department as nodal center for providing computer facilities to the university departments. Department has organized seminars (1989, 1999 and 2003) and workshop (1994) of National level.
