Dyal Singh College is a co-educational institute of the University of Delhi. It was established in the year 1959 and imparts education to over 4500 students every year including foreign students. The vision of the college is to create a conducive environment for students to gain insight into their academic pursuits and to enhance their employable skills.

Dyal Singh College offers various undergraduate courses in the field of Arts, Commerce, Mathematical Sciences, Science and Social Sciences. The college believes in offering quality education. The placement cell of the college has an impressive record. It provides relevant job and internship opportunities to the students wishing to be economically independent.

The college also has a Research and Innovation Centre where various projects are already running in various fields. These projects are funded by UGC, CSIR, DST, ICSSR, ICMR and DU.

Dyal Singh College has various clubs such as NCC, NSS to help the less privileged in the society and their responsibility towards planet Earth. The college has also adopted a village under the Jhugi-jhopdi cluster, to impart health/ hygiene education and to make people literate.

Founded in 1959, Dyal Singh College is a constituent college of the University of Delhi. Spread across 11 acres in South Delhi, the college has been accredited with Grade A by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council NAAC. Dyal Singh College has been ranked 20th in the NIRF India Rankings 2019 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The college offers undergraduate programmes across disciplines. The various departments of the college are Botany, Computer Science, Life Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology, Commerce, Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Philosophy, English, Physical Education, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Hindi, Sanskrit and Environmental Science.

Dyal Singh College owes its origin to the extreme generosity and foresight of Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, founder of ‘The Tribune’ and ‘Punjab National Bank’, who willed his vast wealth in 1895 for the setting up of an Education Trust for a truly secular college. Consequently, Dyal Singh College was established at Lahore in 1910. After the Partition of India, Dyal Singh College was established in Karnal and in Delhi. It started functioning in the capital as a constituent College of the University of Delhi in 1959 and was taken over by the University of Delhi as a University maintained institution in 1978. The College Campus of over 11 acres is centrally located on metro map at Lodhi Road in South Delhi in the vicinity of Lodhi Garden, Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Stadium, India Habitat Centre, India International Centre, CGO Complex and many other institutions of national/international significance.
