Master of Philosophy in Yoga (M.Phil.Yoga), is a one to two years postgraduate degree level course of study in India. The study deals with the physical, mental and spiritual discipline of the course. The aim of the master’s study program is to prepare candidates capable to provide yoga therapy to the patients who are suffering from various kinds of psychosomatic disorder. The course trained candidates with the advanced technical skills of yoga able to provide treatment with all types of modern facilities available in the hospital and therapy centers.
The master's course is designed to emphasize on the topics such as increases muscle strength, flexibility and tone, promote weight loss or reduction in body fat, alleviates stress, anxiety and depression, boosts energy, enhance sleep, heightens concentration, reduces blood pressure, improve circulation, strengthen the immune system.
The course of study is suitable for those candidates wants to increase their knowledge for accelerating their career by exploring and acquire a critical understanding of the Yoga Therapy. The course of study is designed to provide in-depth knowledge, information, techniques and about the activities associated with Yoga and Naturopathy, in a comprehensive manner. The candidate has to complete Bachelor Degree such as Master of Science in Yoga (M.Sc.Yoga), Master of Arts in Yoga Therapy (MA. Yoga), or equivalent examination, with minimum aggregate 55% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Master’s degree study program.
This course requires study requires 1 to 2 years of time period in India, It’s a Full Time professional degree course, but some candidates use part time, correspondence education program and also go for distance learning, study option to earn this degree.
After the successful completion of this course, candidates can also pursue the higher studies and do Ph.D. (Doctorate in Yoga Therapy), and specialization or research oriented work in their respective field.
