Diploma in Operation Theatre Technician (DOTT)

Diploma in Operation Theatre Technician (DOTT) is a two - three years diploma course in India. The study is a fundamental part of the operation unit working with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre nurses to ensure every single procedure of safety and successful outcome of surgical process. The study trained candidates to look after all the surgical instruments,arrangement of operation theatre table, dressing table, instrument table, anesthesia table and also how to manage staff. They also look after the drugs required for surgery, anesthetic gases, drapes & all the linen & their sterilization. The study trained candidates to assist the surgeon during the operations. The operation theatre technician has to manage & organize whole operation theatre. The study based on basic science of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, with especial focus on the discipline of, Recovery Room and Nursing Care, Patient Handling and Shifting Techniques, Operating Room Ethics, Equipments, Sterilization, Basic Anesthesia and Bayles Apparatus, Introduction to Equipment in Operation Theatre - Lights, Operation Theatre Table, Sucker, Diathermy, Common General Surgical Operation and Dressing, Computer Data Processing. The Bachelor degree program requires 2- 3 years of time period in India. It’s a Full Time study professional diploma course.

Eligibility

The candidates should have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) Education or an Equivalent Examination, for Science stream and additional subjects like, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, minimum 50% marks are eligible for pursuing in this program.
