Eligiblity:

=> Minimum academic qualification for admission to the course is a pass in higher secondary from a recognised Board of Examination. All applicants should have computer literacy. => There is no minimum or maximum age limit. Students need to bring their own fully adjustable camera with interchangeable lenses. Owning a variety of lenses i.e. wide angles, telephotos and in some cases, zoom lenses - will be very helpful, but not required. => Students need to provide their own digital cards and they will need to purchase a USB or any sort of portable memory. They might also want to buy a stack of writeable CDs, too. => If necessary the faculty can give advice regarding the purchase of equipment.

Course Details:

The course explores the importance of the visual images in communicating ideas and information. The student will learn to recognize quality photographs, both technically and aesthetically, and will learn to make, manage and edit photographs with digital cameras, media, computers, and software. The student will be exposed to the ethics of using images for news and editorial purposes, and in the process will learn to become conversant with photographic terminology through the critique process. Although the focus of this course is to develop a student’s skills as a photojournalist, it is useful in other areas of Print communication as well - journalism, graphic designing and new media communication. It even builds a foundation for a future career in photography.
