No.of Seats : 40 The course is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India, Ministry of Surface Transport, Mumbai. The syllabus for the course is based on requirements of the convention of International Maritime Organization ( IMO) on Standards of Training Certification and Watchkeeping ( STCW), 1995 and Merchant Shipping (STCW) Rules, 1998. Career Prospects: Successful students will have to pass M.EO. Class IV Part A Examination conducted by Mercantile Marine Dept. Govt. of India and after passing the same will be eligible for appointment as Junior Engineers on board merchant ships. Candidate will rise to the position of the Chief Engineer within 5 to 6 years on passing further examinations.
