Mechanical Engineering The Mechanical Engineering Department has dedicated and enthusiastic staff and most of them are well qualified and experienced. The faculty is focused towards inculcating technical creativity in the students along with theoretical as well as practical knowledge. The excellent facilities are available to achieve this aim. The department has well equipped laboratories, and has modern equipment related to Mechanical Engineering. In view to keep pace with the times, department has started the postgraduate course in CAD/CAM, which is unique in Pune region. The Mechanical Engineering Student Association Organizes "RENAISSANCE" which is annual state level event. It is symposium comprising of paper presentation, Robotic competition, Quiz and Design competition. Mechanical Quotient (MQ): A state level technical festival is organized by MESA every year. M.Q. was multifaceted event encompassing various competitions such as Paper presentation, Robotic competition, Quiz and Design competition. Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Students Chapter started in our department dated 12th September 2003 by the Director of ARAL. It deals with the advanced mobility in space, water and land. Its aim is to make travel safer. Mechanical Engineering department organizes training programme in Tata Motors, Pune every semester. This training programme consist of training on CNC, Hydraulic and Pneumatics, Vehicle familiarization for students and staff . Three students of Mechanical engineering department have won the consolation prize in the project competition organized by Institute of Engineers , Pune in year 2005.
