Course Duration : 4 Years Course Fees : Rs. 1,07,750 Eligibility Criteria : 10 + 2 Examination with Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects along with one subject Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Biology with minimum 50% and UPSEE 2010 / AIEEE 2010 qualified. B.Tech (Information Technology) is a four year (eight semesters) under graduate programme, started in the year 2000 in affiliation with Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU). Admission to the B.TECH (IT) programme is through a Common Entrance Test (CET), conducted by the UPTU. The course is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge of computer science with emphasis on applications together with a judicious blend of technical skills. Each semester is of sixteen weeks duration, besides the examinations. The students have to take 46 courses along with the personal and inter-personal effectiveness, labs and industry training during all the eight semesters. The current intake for the programme is 120.Department is also running M. Tech. (IT) programme from UPTU with an intake of 18 students. It is a two years programme with last semester as research project. Students also publish research papers in reputed Conferences and journals. In Galgotia College of Engineering & Technology, a variety of learning tools are used for the acquisition of knowledge and skills. Role-play, Case study, Project work, Field experience, Assignments, Quiz, Seminars, Industry visits etc. are some of the methods used.
