Veer Kunwer Singh Mahila College was established on 19th November 1983 in a General Meeting for Empowerment and Education of Women in rural area. The meeting was presided by senior freedom fighter and Social Activist honorable Mr. Mangal Singh. The foundation of the college was the result of endless efforts of Dr. Harigovind Singh, (Professor) S.P. Jain College, Sasaram and Dr. Hemant Prasad Singh the Principal of Girls High School Medinipur. The name of the college was decided to keep is in the name of the first Freedom Fighter of the Nation Babu Veer Kunwer Singh.
