      SANJAY GANDHI INSTITUTE OF DAIRY TECHNOLOGY offers 4 years bachelor's degree courses in Dairy Technology . Admission to these courses is made through a merit list prepared on the basis of the score of the candidates in the BCECEB. In these courses the reservation available to different reserved categories like SC, ST and OBC is as per the Government of India norms. In general, candidate who have passed 10+2 with science are eligible to apply for the dairy courses. Selection B-Tech./B.Sc. in Dairy Technology, of duration 4 years, is on the basis of an all-India entrance examination. Furthermore, Dairy diploma courses of duration 2 years are also available. Study/Training The study of dairy technology includes subjects like : Dairy Engineering - deals with the technological aspect of the dairy products. Dairy Chemistry - deals with the composition of the product. Dairy Bacteriology - deals with improving product standatrds using research and biotechnological standards. Statistical & Quality Control - deals with micro-biological laboratory testing for maintaing product quality. Students also learn about running a dairy plant from the engineering, managerial and financial point of views.
