Gossaigaon B.Ed. College was set up in the years 1995 on 30th April with a motto – Quality and Security and the vision to establish of this institution as a centre excellence for teacher’s training. The classes of the college were formally inaugurated on 12th September, 1995 by Mr. Japendra Nath Narzary, the then Director of Education, Bodoland Autonomous Council, Kokrajhar, Assam. Mr. S.R. Roy, Principal of Kokrajhar Govt. B.Ed. College graced as guest of honour in the inaugural ceremony. The college in its initial stage was started in the campus of Gossaigaon Boys’ H.S. School with the benevolent founder academic staff headed by Mr. Guneswar Mushahary as principal – in – charge and lecturers namely-Mrs Anima Narzary, Mr. Malin Bhattacharjee, Mrs. Anu Rani Brahma, Mrs. Labanya Lahkar, Mr. Sarbeswar Ch. Roy, Mrs. Nilima Brahma and Guest Lectutres- Mr. Sonaram Baglary, Mr. Ramadhar Singh and Mr. Ganapati Brahma., The college was permitted to set up a new B.Ed. College in the year 1995 by the Gauhati University vide letter no. GU/AFF/Pr/98/119 Dated 26-03-1998 and initially recognized by NCTE Bhubaneswar on conditions in the session 2000-2001 vide order No. 191 Dated 11-01-2001/Letter No. ERC-09/30/2011/1241 Dated X. 4-2001/01-05-2001. The college obtained affiliation from G.U in the session 1998-99 vide Letter No. GU/AFF/2006-2371 Dated 04-08-2006. The College is now formally recognized by NCTE, Bhubaneswar (vide Letter No. ERC/7.54/(ER-54.6(a) 2/2005/83591) Dated March 18 -2005). Sri Ajit Boro joined this college as a full fledged principal on 01/11/2005 and took the charge of secretary of Governing Body of Gossaigaon B.Ed. College on 01/11/2014 as per the resolution of G.B. dated 01/11/2014. For conducting B.Ed. programme of two years duration from the academic session 2015-2016 the NCTE, ERC, Bhubaneswar granted recognition vide order no. F.ERC/NCTE/APE00216/B.Ed. (Revised Order) /2015/31855. It is to be mentioned that social workers and political leaders has extended their noble help and co- operation in the development of this college. Mr. Tojen Narzary, the then MLA, 28th Gossaigaon Constituency extended his helping hand by according grant of Rs. 2 (two) Lacs from MLA9 A.D), Development fund in the year 1995-1996. The Bodoland Territorial has allotted 9 bighas 16 lechas from general khas in the name of Gossaigaon B.Ed. College. Sjt.Hargrama Mohilary Hon’ble chief of B.T.C. granted financial assistance for the construction of RCC building in the years 2007. The ground floor of the same building was inaugurated by Sjt. Hagrama Mohilary, Hon’ble chief of B.T.C. on 05-01-2010 and 1st floor was inaugurated by Sjt. Derhasat Basumatary, Hon’ble E.M., Education of B.T.C. and on 7/2/2013 B.T.C. again granted financial assistance for the construction of two additional classrooms in the year 2015 and the same was completed in the month of July 2015.
