The Department of Agricultural Engineering started its journey from 2006 in North-East of India. The detailed structures and syllabus for the undergraduate and post graduate courses are designed considering the AICTE Guidelines to meet the requirements of different Industries, R&D organizations and Academic Institutions and to address the need based research activities for the problem faced in the localities and the North Eastern Region. The infrastructure of the department comprises setup the laboratories Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing, Surveying and Leveling, Water Resources Engineering, Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, Bio-Process Engineering etc. Industrial training and filed visits are arranged by the department enabling students to learn directly and have technical as well as field exposure in different reputed institutes and Companies. Apart from academics, sports, cultural and co-curricular activities, in the carrer of the students have also been given due impetus. Adding yet another feather to its illustrious cap, the department has been granted a Major Research Projects by UGC, New Delhi.
Courses Offered:
i) B.Tech. (By course work).
Duration: (Eight Semester),
Intake Capacity: 92
Admission on the basis of AIEEE ranking and Central Counselling only and students have to obtain at least 50% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics/Biology in 10+2 level.
ii) M. Tech. (By Course Work & Dissertation)
Duration: (Four Semester),
Intake Capacity:18
For admission the students have to qualify through, (a) GATE/ICAR examination, or (b) Test conducted by the Department as per the Assam University norms. And students have to obtain at least 50% in B.E./B. Tech. (Agricultural/Mechanical /Civil/Chemical Engineering/Renewable Energy)
iii) Ph.D. (By course and research work)
For admission the students have to qualify through, (a) GATE/ICAR examination, or (b) Test conducted by the Department as per the Assam University norms. And students have to obtain at least 50% in M.Tech./M.E./M.Sc. in (Agricultural/Mechanical/Civil/Chemical Engineering and M.Sc. Food Technology/ Renewable Energy/Life Science/Environmental Science or equivalent) .
