The Institute of Maritime Education & Research is started in our Anna University of technology Coimbatore since March 2008 and this department deals with design, construction and performance of marine vehicles. Bachelor Degree in Naval Architecture in full time mode has offered by this IMER. The first batch was started with 72 students. The department takes full effort to equip the students with theoretical as well as practical aspects in ship designing and construction practice.
