A.J. College of Education was established in the year 1967 and the college was established for the purpose of meeting the educational needs of the people of West Godavari and Krishna districts. Initially, the college was offering education under the affiliation of Andhra University and after some years, the college came under the jurisdiction of Nagarjuna University. The actual name of the college is Andhra Jateeya Bodhana Kalasala, which is shortly called as A.J. Bodhana Kalasala. Here, the term Bodhana Kalasala refers to college of education.A.J. College of Education is presently offering B. Ed course under the affiliation of Nagarjuna University. Previously, the college was offering B. Ed course through correspondence by acting as a study center for Bharatidasan and Andhra University. At present, the college is acting as a study center for Indira Gandhi National Open University for B. Ed course.
