The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) is a statutory body established in 2012 under the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Centralization of Admissions) Act, 1987. It is responsible for the regulation and development of higher education in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.

Functions of APSCHE

  • Regulating admissions to all undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by universities and colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
  • Conducting common entrance tests for professional courses such as engineering, medicine, agriculture, law, and education.

For Engineering & Technology:

  • AP EAPCET: Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (EAPCET) is conducted for admissions into Engineering, Agriculture & B.Pharmacy courses offered by various Universities and Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
  • AP ECET: Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET) is conducted for admissions into various Engineering courses offered by Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

For Law:

  • AP LAWCET: Law Common Entrance Test (LAWCET) is conducted for admissions into various Law courses offered by Universities and Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
  • AP PGLCET: Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test (AP PGLCET)

For Education:

  • AP EdCET: Education Common Entrance Test (EdCET) is conducted for admissions into various B.Ed and D.Ed courses offered by Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

For Medical & Health Sciences:

  • AP PGECET: Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET) is conducted for admissions into various M.E. and M.Tech. courses offered by Universities and Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
  • AP PGCET (Medical): Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) is conducted for admissions into various MD and MS courses offered by Universities and Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

For Agriculture & Pharmacy:

  • AP PG Agriculture CET: Post Graduate Agriculture Common Entrance Test (PG Agriculture CET) is conducted for admissions into various M.Sc. (Agri) courses offered by Universities and Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
  • AP PG Pharmacy CET: Post Graduate Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (PG Pharmacy CET) is conducted for admissions into various M.Pharm. courses offered by Universities and Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

For Others:

  • ADCET: Art and Design Common Entrance Test (ADCET) is conducted for admissions into various B.F.A. and B.Des. courses offered by Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
  • AP PECET: Physical Education Common Entrance Test (PECET) is conducted for admissions into various B.P.Ed. courses offered by Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
  • AP RCET: Research Common Entrance Test (RCET) is conducted for admissions into Ph.D. programs offered by Universities in Andhra Pradesh.

Structure of APSCHE

The APSCHE consists of a Chairman, two Vice-Chairmen, a Secretary, and other members. The Chairman is appointed by the Governor of Andhra Pradesh on the recommendation of the Chief Minister. The Vice-Chairmen and Secretary are appointed by the state government.
