Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a young and vibrant university that is attracting the attention of the student community, the academia and the industry alike. The university, head-quartered at Ettimadai, Coimbatore, is one of the youngest group of educational institutions in India to have been granted university status under section 3 of UGC Act.
Two Schools Arts & Sciences and Education are located side-by-side on this serene, 5-acre campus. The Schools offer bachelors and masters programs including B.Sc. and M.Sc. in several disciplines, B.C.A. and M.C.A, B.B.M., and B.Ed. School of Education Both Schools are committed to providing students with a holistic education that includes theoretical coursework, laboratory and field experience, integrated with spiritual values.Students participate in the Science Club, the Humanities Club and the Literary Committee. There is also a branch of the M.A. Math's Green Friends that organizes planting of trees and environmental education.The campus is located adjacent to the Mysore Amrita Vidyalayam, which is part of the country-wide network of over 55 such high-schools run by the M.A. Math, to impart holistic education to children nationwide The Schools have spacious four-story buildings with lecture halls, laboratories, computer labs and offices. There is a central, automated library, halls with a seating capacity of over hundred and a 500-seater auditorium. A new and exclusive internet browsing center has been set up in the campus for the benefit of all students. Examination section is provided with 9 additional systems with cyber connectivity which are meant for the faculty to facilitate question paper setting, other exam related confidential work and other data entry, preparation for the classes and browsing. Computer Lab is equipped with two additional Servers, viz., oracle Server and Proxy Server.
