Department of Chemical Sciences The Department of Chemical Sciences was started in the year 1997, when it offered M. Sc. course in Polymer Science. From July 2006 the Department has been offering M. Sc. program in Applied Chemistry with specialization in Catalysis, Medicinal Chemistry and Polymer Chemistry. Presently the Department is offering 5-year Integrated M. Sc. in Chemistry, M. Sc. in Chemical Sciences and M. Tech. in Polymer Science and Technology.

Department of Centre for Disaster Management The Centre for Disaster Management, of Tezpur University, Sonitpur, Assam was established in 1997 with the objectives to conduct trainings, conferences, workshops, case studies and research work; teach courses in diploma programme; prepare documentation etc. Till 2002, this centre had been receiving fund from NDM division of Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperation, Government of India under a central sector scheme. The scheme of NDM had subsequently been transferred to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India during 2002.
