Surguja University started Master of Science (MSc) course in Environmental Science in the academic year 2014-2015 on self financing basis.
The M.Sc course started in a building of Manipur Govt High School with one staff room and two class rooms on temporary basis. After joining of full time teachers some basic instruments, glass goods and chemicals were purchased for infrastructural development and running the day to day practical classes of M.Sc. course in Environmental Science.
For developing this unit, we have received full co-operation and help from our respected Vice-Chancellor, administrative staffs and colleagues in the University teaching departments.
After prior approval from our higher authorities we prepared our syllabus after several sittings with our colleagues in an all India pattern and in concurrence with the syllabi of competitive UGC NET examinations. This was later approved by the Board of Studies (BOS) Surguja Viswavidyalaya.
We started our M. Sc. programme on and from September 3, 2014 with an intake capacity of 20 students.
