Department of Biotechnology

The Department of Biotechnology was established in the year 2011 with an aim to cultivate the habit of innovative, independent thinking and problem solving, students/ scholars in the most advanced field of Biotechnology in Surguja zone of Chhattisgarh, India. The department has nationally and internationally experienced and trained faculty to impart knowledge in the various specialized advanced fields of Biotechnology. The Department is committed to provide quality Scientific and Technical education and to equip its students with Biotechnological skills, making them resourceful in the various most advanced areas of Biotechnology.

The department has excellent facilities for Biotechnology teaching and research, namely; Plant Genetics and Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, DNA Finger Printing, Genetic Engineering and Infectious diseases.

Besides the department has excellent Bioinformatics software and online data access facility, especially for Genetic Diversity, Genome mapping, Functional Genomics and Proteomics study.

The departmental faculty helps students in preparation of CSIR/DBT/ICAR/ UGC /ICMR -NET and CG-SET exam.
The department has departmental library and E-library containing books from various national and international publishers.

The department has excellent facilities for power point teaching.
