The history of this college abounds in itself a tale of two cities. The college was established in 1917 at Gujranwala ( now in Pakistan). The foundation of the college was laid by Sikh Saint Attar Singh. It will be better to describe the glory of this college at Gujaranwala in the words of old student, Dr. Mohd. Yusaf Abbasi who retired as Professor and Head of the Dept. of History from Qaid-E-Azam University at Islamabad (Pakistan). He writes, "Against the foreground of lush green fields, the sloping roof of the hall seemed to have been transplanted from Oxford and Cambridge to the pastoral setting of Gujranwala , not only for its distant view but also for its most brilliant academic record". Since its inception, the college has been under the stewardship of distinguished educationists . A Britisher Mr. Moore became the founder principal. Later Sant Teja Singh, MA (Harvard) and otherwise a divine soul also guided the destiny of this college for about four years. Bhai Jodh Singh remained Principal for a brief but challenging period. Bawa Harkrishan Singh's 26 years from 1921 - 1947 turned out to be the Golden Era of this institution. Likewise the faculty members were also from among the best in the respective fields. The partition of 1947 did not deter those who had raised this institution. Consequently the college resurrected in Ludhiana, India in May 1953.In the last forty six years of its existence in Ludhiana, the college has created a niche for itself in the educational horizons of Punjab. From a modest beginning it has now grown into a first rate Post-Graduate College, imparting instructions in Science, Humanities and Commerce faculties. In addition to this the college has Evening Shift, Pharmacy Diploma course and GGN Institute of Management and Technology which imparts instructions in BBA and BCA courses. The College is run by Khalsa Educational Council ( Gujranwala ) Ludhiana, a registered body. It provides instructions to about 2000 students annually. It is presently being run under the stewardship of Principal S.Kuldip Singh. Annual Prize Distribution:- At the end of every academic year college also conduct Annual Prize Distribution. Outstanding performances of students in the fields of Education, Literature, Cultural and Sports activities are acknowledged by the College.
