Established in 1990 as the Symbiosis Institute of journalism & communication (SIJC) , and later renamed the Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication, the institute has evolved into a leading institute , providing the industry with skilled and trained media professionals adopt in all fields of mass communication, SIMC’s method of instructing its students in both theoretical and practical aspects of mass communication has produced students who excel academically as well as respond swiftly to professional challenges. Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication (SIMC) Pune is one of the premiere journalism institutes of India. SIMC Pune is a part of the Symbiosis Society and was established in 1990. The institute was established as a post-graduate media school with a focus on journalism and was earlier known as Symbiosis Institute of Journalism and Communication (SIJC). In the course of time, the institute has kept pace with the changing times and has repositioned itself as an integrated mass communication institute. The institute has also been renamed as the Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication.
