It renders services of imparting higher education for the amelioration of the backward SC/ST dominated blocks of Malda District, Bamongola and Habibpur. The College is built on a 6 acre land area and has an Academic Building where classes are held, an Administrative Building, a Library, one Union Building, a Canteen, Cycle stand, a Boys' Hostel and a Girls' Hostel. The college currently has only Arts faculty with ten departments., The college, affiliated to the University of Gour Banga offers B.A. three years (1+1+1 system) Degree Courses at Honours and General level.
