      About Vidyasagar School of Social Works, Kolkata

      The School of Social Work was started by Jayaprakash Institute of Social Change in the year 1984 with the objective of creating a pool of trained social workers to serve the NGOs and various development organizations as well as impart professional ethics and values to the gradually emerging field of social welfare. The two year post graduate diploma programme that started in 1985 subsequently gained recognition of the Vidyasagar University as Masters Degree Course in Social Work (MSW). Consequently, the School was named as Vidyasagar School of Social Work (VSSW) under the auspices of Jayaprakash Institute of Social Change.
