Began in 1971 with a group of university teachers and researchers under the stewardship of noted educationist, Late Dr. Arun Ghosh, a National Awardee on Child Welfare in 2001. He set up IPER to provide the young people of our country with facilities for research in psychology and education and provide them with necessary guidance for the same., Institute of Psychological & Educational Research (IPER), is an outcome of the untiring efforts of its workers and unstinting help of its patrons and well wishers. IPER is a voluntary and non-profiting organisation and is recognised by both Central and State Government. Working for 46 years with the underprivileged communities in the city of Kolkata and around., It is registered with Societies Registration Act of West Bengal, the Foreign Contribution Registration Act, PWD Act 1995 and is exempted u/s of 80G (5)(vi) of the I T Act 1961., IPER is committed to the development and promotion of the vulnerable children & women. It committed to create an organisation that is safe for children. It also advocates a Zero tolerance policy towards abuse of children in all its forms. IPER also promotes gender equality and inclusiveness in its work., All programme that IPER undertakes is based on the principle of Child Rights as declared in the UN Convention of Child Rights 1989., Our projects focus on education as a tool of all development. Besides this we also provide other developmental services like health care and nutritional supplementation, capacity building and capacity development., Vision, Emergence of a society which is just, equitable and humane without strife, abuse, violence, exploitation, discrimination based on the rights of all sections of the population., Mission, All-round development of the underprivileged, especially children with a special focus on the girl child, and women irrespective of their caste, social and economic standing in keeping with the principle of their best interest through education, capacity building, empowerment with related developmental areas like health, ecology, sustainability and well being.
