Inspired by the noble cause of education and philanthropic zeal, a group of twenty-two like minded industrialists in Kolkata established in 1990 the Kalyan Bharti Trust (KBT), a charitable educational establishment, to promote and provide higher education in the country and in the State of West Bengal, in particular. KBT founded Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata, in 2001 to create a Centre of Excellence in technical education in Eastern India. The aim was to be a leader in technical education in the country and to be at par with the best in the world. To achieve KBT’s objective, The Heritage School (www.theheritageschool.org) was set up in 2001, and it offered education from pre-nursery to plus 2 level under the C.I.S.C.E. as well as International Baccalaureate and I.G.C.S.E programmes.

Training and Placement Cell is one of the core departments in a B-School which compliments the efforts of Training & Placement officers and Faculty Members by organizing value-added programmes. Most Management Graduates consider “Placement” to be the key word. The Training & Placement Cell, guided by a set of rules and principles, strives to maintain constant and mutually beneficial relations with companies.
