Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science & Technology aims to serve its purpose of establishment through [1]enhancing human health through the creation and dissemination of knowledge in discovery, development and evaluation of new drugs and drug delivery systems, optimization of safe and effective drug use, and improvement of pharmaceutical services through pharmaceutical care delivery; [2] preparing outstanding pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists to meet the health care needs of the diverse populations of the state and society and enhancing the delivery of essential pharmacy services for all citizens.

Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science & Technology, established in 2005 is currently a small but dedicated unit with core faculty of phramceutical science. New deparments are being developed as the post graduate programme on Pharmacy would be offered soon. Additional departments of Bio-technology, Microbiology and Hospital Management are in the offing under a new faculty ‘Biological and Allied Health Sciences’. The institute plans to offer under graduate programmes from the new departments.
