About Brindavan Gurukul

His name, so befittingly, is Hari - another name for Krishna, the Lord of the flute. His title is Bansuri Ke Samrat (King of the Flute). His life’s mission - to globally popularize the bansuri (Krishna’s Flute) and make its sounds and melodies as immortal as Lord Krishna himself. His dream – the establishment of gurukul style schools of music and education throughout the world to accomplish his mission. As a first step towards the realization of this dream, he founded Vrindaban Gurukul in Bombay, India, Vrindaban Academy in Hong Kong and the Brindavan Gurukul, Inc., in California. The Institute BGI is a school for Indian and Indian-Western fusion music and meditation focusing on children and youth. BGI is also a school for providing quality education, cultural and social heritage and family values to children and to prepare them for the 21st Century and its unique challenges. To create and inculcate in children and youth a love for and appreciation of Indian music, especially bansuri (Indian bamboo flute) music as well as Indian-Western (jazz) fusion music. To provide for children at an early age, a constructive, disciplined, satisfying and creative alternative to the culture of drugs, gangs, violence and sex to which they are constantly exposed and to prepare them for the unique challenges of the 21st Century.
