Falakata BEd College FBEC, Jalpaiguri was established to promote the education in this region. The college is located at a peaceful environment, far from pollution. Falakata BEd College is affiliated to North Bengal University and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education NCTE. The aim of the college is to impart proper training to the educated youth in the field of education and also to enable the prospective teacher to understand the nature, purpose and spirit of Secondary/Higher Secondary Education.

There has been a long-felt need to establish a new BEd. College in the District of Alipurduar to give scope to the educated youth so that they can acquire a Bachelor of Education degree to enhance their scale and competency and join the teaching profession. This degree has become an essential prerequisite if one wishes to be a teacher in a Secondary/Higher Secondary School. The College has played a pioneering role in launching various professional job-related courses to help students interested in acquiring special skills to enhance their learning and earning capabilities. Understanding the need of the society and to meet the future challenges in the field of education the new college has been established at "Swastik Bhawan", Muktipara, Falakata. The college is managed by a registered trust - Ashwini Choudhury Educational Trust.
