About Ananda Chandra Training College, Jalpaiguri

Ananda Chandra Training College, established in 1958, is a Government Sponsored College under the University of North Bengal. It is located on the bank of the Karola River, in the South Eastern Part of Jalpaiguri Town with a beautiful campus covering an area nearly 25 acres of land. The college was founded on the philanthropy of Late Kamini Chandra Raut. He establish this institution for the Memory of his father Late Ananda Chandra Raut. A number of educationally interested persons went ahead to establish this institution.

Since that auspicious occasion of its foundation, the college has come a long way with rich variety of developmental work in its experience. The college already celebrated her Golden Jubilee Occasion in 2009. The College is co-educational and the sanctioned roll strength is 100. The Session usually commences from the month of July and terminates in the next year in the month of June. 28% of the seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates. Admission is governed by rules, prescribed by the Govt of WB, NBU. and NCTE from time to time. The College offers training in teaching methods almost all the subjects taught in Secondary School. The College has a modern library containing various books for inspiring all round development activity in the students paving their path for self realization and above all, in the greater performance of students in the University examination till now.

The College has a fully equipped Psychology Laboratory, Language, Visual Arts, Science, Geography and Work Education Laboratory. Students are given practical training with modern apparatus under the guidance of experts. Literacy Drive and Blood Donation Camp, two extra curricular activities of the college are managed by the students during their training. Thus, the college is gearing up for meeting new challenges of higher education.

Besides from the regular course, the college also imparts training in ODL Modes like IGNOU, NSOU and Dl.E.Ed.
