Mekliganj College was established on 22nd December 1996 as a General degree college undergraduate level only. The institution is co-educational and is now affiliated to Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University CBPBU. As CBPBU has introduced Choice Based Credit System CBCS, for the undergraduate Course of studies, the same course is offered by the college for the degree of BA in Honours and BA in Programme course. Undergraduate Course of study is three year course of study divided into six semesters. Each semester is of six months duration. In each academic year there will be two semesters; one is from July to December and the other is from January to June.
