St. Joseph’s Girls Degree College is established and governed by the Society of Jesus Mary Sisters. At present Sr. Rosily is the Provincial, Sr. Marina , the Chair person, Secretary Sr. Meena and Principal, Sr. Christina. The inauguration of the college took place on 15th August 1981. The Vice Chancellor , Registrar, Bishop Patrick Nair, Sister provincial, fathers, sisters and the newly admitted students were present for the ceremony. Sr. Magdalene Gonsalves, was the First Principal at that time. The college offered six subjects – Hindi, English,Sanskrit, History, political science and Home Science. Though College received permanent affiliation in 1984 but grant- in- aid was granted in later year. The staff members were six teachers., one clerk, three helpers. In the beginning years sister Vianney and sister Sebastian taught History and pol. Science. As the time passed by there was a felt need for B.Ed training College for the poor girls and other girls of our locality and neighbouring villages. . In 2005-2006 the B.A. section started three additional subjects under Self finance Scheme mainly drawing, Sociology and Economics. The college applied for permission to start B.Ed course from the authority of U.P. Government and CCS University Meerut. The application was sent to the university, the team came while the new building was ready. The team of inspection from N.C.T.E. Jaipur visited the college in 2005-2006. being satisfied the facilities, recognition was granted for one section w.e.f. 2007-2008 under self finance scheme. The university granted approval for the same. Today the college has around 700 students all together. The mission and vision of the college is to provide higher education to the young girls of the locality and neighbouring villages and mould them into good human beings and responsible citizens of our country.

The vision of the institution is to make God known and loved by means of human values in all social milieus, to facilitate and empower the women of rural and socially backward areas with opportunities to recognize and develop their hidden talents through education and co-curricular activities and thus enable the students to meet and face the demands of the global world educationally, socially, culturally and economically through the motto

To inculcate and to promote in the students the true knowledge and the dignity of human life in all its aspects without any distinction of caste, creed and culture.

To help the girls to be independent, responsible, well-balanced and efficient women and to be a source of blessings in the family and society as daughters, life-partners, mothers and creators of happy homes through quality higher education.

To sensitize the students to the needs of society in the changing global world with a holistic approach to the education, both inside and outside the class-room
