It is one of the constituent institutes of the university., University has made consistent efforts in providing appropriate teaching-learning experiences to the students. Apart from class-room instructions, other avenues of learning are also provided to the students that include projects, internship, field training, summer workshops, seminars, study-tours etc. The faculty members keep abreast with recent development for their respective subject areas by consulting recent publications through online journals, internet facilities, laboratory work, research studies, and conferences and through lectures delivered by guest faculties., The University Institute of Engineering and Technology is the brainchild of its founder Prof. S.S. Katiyar, the former Vice Chancellor of CSJM University, Kanpur. It is set amidst the university campus that has an of about 265 acres. It was founded in 1996 with four branches of B.Tech program and with an initial strength of 240 students. It was started with an objective to have an autonomous engineering college of first-rate standard for the students of Kanpur and its nearby places. Today, it has around 2200 students on its rolls in all the six disciplines of Engineering,MCA,BCA and other career-oriented programs like M.Sc.(Electronics), M.Sc.(Bioinformatics) and Advanced PG Diploma in Bioinformatics, M.Phil. The faculty and staff of the institute are dedicated towards advancing knowledge and educating students in Engineering & Technology and as well as in Sciences., The University Institute of Engineering & Technology (UIET) was founded with a vision to serve the country in the 21st century by offering its students advanced knowledge in Engineering and Technology, Science and other areas of scholarship. The intellectual stimulation that is provided to each member of University Institute of Engineering and Technology community generates a passion in him/her to work wisely, creatively and effectively for the national development., Spreading over a campus of 254 acres, the university is booming with academic activities.For catering to the needs of young engineering aspirants, the university has started an Institute of Engineering and Technology in the campus offering courses in six branches of engineering viz. Chemical, Computer Science and Information, Mechanical Engineering,Electronics & Communication and Material Science & Engineering in the first instance. The university seeks to contribute to student an education through curriculum design, the development of new courses and the application of a forward looking and innovative teaching methodology., Over the years, there has been a continuous progress in all-academic activities.
