Located in The concept of DG PG College arose from the ethos of Arya Samaj. The institution was founded in 1959 as the first all women’s PG College in the town in the memory of Swami Dayanand Saraswati who stood for the revival and propagation of Vedic Dharma. The college, in consonance to that , has the vision of moulding the life of women in a sublime and noble way with the prime objective of uplifting their physical and social condition without the distinction of caste and creed through the vital mission of dispelling ignorance and promoting knowledge. Thus DG’s whole architecture stands upon the twin pillars of Indian culture and nationalism., Our mission, Statement states “Let the truth dispel falsehood andlight dispel darkness”. This Vedic hymn addresses society’s need for holistic education and our quest to spread knowledge to women of different sections of the society. These quests are aimed at empowering women through education and yet keep them grounded to our traditions and values., The institution caters to the traditional as well as contemporary needs of the society. We try to fulfill the need of intellectual and academic development of women hailing from different strata of society and at the same time ensure that they are trained in a way that meets the changing requirement of the society and economy. All this is tempered with a view to also sharper their sensibilities towards cultural and environmental issues. In the nutshell the institution endeavours to ensure that students passing out from this college should be confident individuals with positive orientation, ready to contribute significantly towards community and national development.The curricular and co-curricular programmes are devised in such a way so as to cater to the diversified needs of the students, help them to grow academically in different disciplines including furtherance of knowledge through research and finally disseminating this acquired knowledge to the larger society., Aims and Objectives of the College, Dayanand Girl’s College brings together students from different cultural and religious backgrounds and offers rich and varied academic and vocational programmes.
