At present 10 subjects are being taught at postgraduate level. Golden Jubilee of the college was celebrated with great fervour in 1968. The college has several buildings, beautiful lawns, huge playgrounds, hostels and library. It has got well equipped laboratories for subjects Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Geography, Military Science and B Ed.The college occupies a prime position among the colleges of the State. Several alumni of the college became ICS, IAS, IFS, IPS, PCS, Governors, Ministers, Parliamentarians, legislators, etc. For the list of the alumni, click here. Several alumni have also become principal and teachers in different colleges are contributing towards the progress of the education. Apart from this, several formers students have also become businessmen of repute. SM College has been declared an A Grade institution by the Higher Education Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The college has also been rated as B Grade institution by Bangalore-based National Assessment and Accredition Council (NAAC), an autonomous institution of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Shyam Sunder Memorial College, Chandausi, Distt. Moradabad (U.P.) founded in the memory of Sahu Shyam Sunder by his wife Smt. Rani Ram Kali as a High School in 1908 was upgraded to intermediate college in 1923, to degree level in 1946 and finally to post-graduate college in 1951. It is situated in the heart of the town and covers a total area of 25.4 acres. The college is governed by a Managing Committee consisting of 13 members and is affiliated to M.J.P.
