Ayurvedic College and Hospital is situated in Bansmandi, Bareilly, UP, near Old Roadways Bus Stand and 3 kilometer away from Railway Station Bareilly (Bareilly Junction)., Bareilly, the district of western UP. Bareilly city is famous for Furniture, Surma, Zari-Zardauji and Manjha., This college is directed by UP government and the forty students for BAMS course are permitted annually. Earlier it was known as Sahu Ram Narayan Murlimanohar Dharmarth Aushdhalaya (Charitable Hospital). After 1965 the same building was used as Aushdhalaya as well as a Temple and a Molasus Godown (sheera godown). In due course of time Temple and Molasus Godown were shifted to some where else. At that time Vd. Shri Chandrashekhar Trivedi, father of well known Vd. Shri Mangal Dev Trivedi and Vd. Shri Vachaspati Trivedi was acting as Pradhan Vaidya. In early days of 1966, Vd. Shri Dharm dutt Vaidya (former health minister of UP), Vd. Shri Jagdish Sharan Agarwal (former minister of UP), Vd. Shri Ram Chandra Agarwal (a famous vaidya and secretary of the Town Area Bareilly), Shri Laxman Das Singhal with few other renowned figures of Bareilly came on front and decided to establish an ayurvedic college, which was conceived in July 1966. At that time Vd. Shri Darbari Lal Sharma was the president of Indian Medicine board and he affiliate this college with Indian medicine board. When it came into existence first posted renowned Vaidyas were Dr. Dattatrey Anant Kulkarni, Vd. Shri Niranjan Dev Shastri, Vd. Shri C. V. Mate, Vd. Shri Vachaspati Trivedi, Vd. Shri Ram Chandra Agarwal and Dr. K. K. Pandey. First other employee was Shri Ova Ram (a peon). A hospital of 30 bed was established for this purpose. First batch of BAMS came up in the year of 1971. After committee’s decision, this college was affiliated to Kanpur University, Kanpur in Dec 1971., After affiliation this college, boys hostal and an agriculture farm, at Afazalgarh, which were the property of the college under the control of District Magistrate, finally both are undertaken by U.P. Govt in 1978. Dr. D. A. Kulkarni was the first principal of this college. Affiliation The college was Affiliated to Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj (CSJM) University Kanpur, formerly known as Kanpur University, Kanpur from 1971 to 2014., From session 2014-2015 the college is affiliated to regional university i.e. Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly (MJPRU).
