Admission Notices

    The institution was first established as a High school on October 20, 1917 in a small township of Baraut surrounded by thickly populated villages thriving on highly fertile agricultural land. It was raised to Intermediate, Undergraduate and Post-Graduate levels in 1940, 1949 and 1956 respectively. At present it is affiliated to Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut, included in the list of colleges under section 12 (B)/2(F) of the UGC Act, and managed by Jat Shiksha Sabha, its parent body. Location: Baraut is situated on Delhi-Saharanpur Rail and Road routes. NH ... passes by the college. It is 55 kms west from Meerut and 55 kms north of Delhi. The nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, at a distance of 75 kms. Climate: Situated at the western outskirt of Uttar Pradesh at 20°6’ N and 77°5’ E and 226.86 metres above the sea level, its mean maximum temperature varies from 17 °C during January to 45 °C during June. The average annual rainfall is 200 mm, 80% of which is received during July to September. During winter from December to February, there are scanty rains.

    Janta Vedic College, Baraut (Baghpat), was established long time back in 1949. The entire credit goes to the then poor peasantry of the region who having deep faith in Arya Samaj, formed a society and go it registered in 1920 under Society Registration Act in the name of Jat Shiksha Sabha and started Jat Vedic High School which rose to undergraduate and postgraduate level in 1949 and 1956 respectively. It was affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Singh University (formerly Meerut University), Meerut, and was also included under section 2(f) and 12(b) of UGC Act.Since its inception, the college developed into a multi-faculty co-educational college having more than 4,000 students, imparting quality education in the faculties of Arts, Science, Agriculture, and Education. Each department is well equipped with all the necessary modern teaching aids as well as excellent laboratories with computers (wherever needed) which are put to their optimum use by highly qualified faculty members.
    Sprawling campus situated on a tributary of yamuna canal spread over more than 40 acres of land surrounded by high raised brick walls and railings, having well-developed lawns of more than 10 acres. Concrete roads parked with big rare trees connecting different roads give it a unique picture-sque and elegant look of a beautiful university.As for infrastructure, there are 15 quarters for teachers, 10 for non-teaching staff, two well-developed boys’ hostels, one girls’ hostel and a beautiful guest house. Besides there are a grand yagnashala to perform weekly yagnas, a big 40-acre farm for research in agriculture, and a dairy farm having approximately two dozens of milk producing cattles. The college has its own big water tank, three tubewells, a bus for academic excursions, and a central electric genset to power the entire college, a sports stadium of approximately 8 acres, a gymnasium hall with all the facilities, and a historic firing range.

    The gratest challenge for any centre of higher learning is to produce the talented human resource which are the ultimate wealth of a nation. Therefore, the quality teaching and research has become the top priority of the college which has become possible through promoting the work culturte of the whole organisation not emphasizing the contribution of a few individuals due to the reason that internalization of the quality concept and the manifestations of the quality parameters are bound to the responsibility of a collective body with due representation of all the stakeholders in all participating manner.

    Infrastructure: The college has a sprawling campus developed on 40 acres of land near a tributary of the Yamuna canal and protected by boundary walls. There are well-developed gardens, concrete roads lined with big shady trees, spacious playgrounds for games and sports, wel-equipped gymnasium, hostels for boys and girls, guest house, residential staff quarters, canteen, library and a grand yagyashala for havan. There are tube wells for water supply, generators for power back up, college bus for tour and conveyance, and units of NSS, NCC and Rovers and Rangers. Its agricultures and dairy farms are equipped with tractor and other agricultural implements.

    To develop both qualitatively and quantitatively into a national level multi-faculty co-educational institution, to provide high-quality literary, scientific, agricultural, industrial, technical and vocational education to all sections of society, to create talented and skilled human resources, which are the ultimate wealth of any nation, and promote human values, ancient Vedic wisdom and progressive outlook amongst people to enhance the quality of life of all communities. Its name having "Vedic" in the middle - as if the word is engraved in its heart - seeks to remind one of the sacred Vedas as the storehouse of ancient wisdom and inspire its reflection in one's action, speech and service to the community. It imbibes Vedic values among students.
