The Institute of Insurance and Risk Management (IIRM) is an international education and research organization. The Institute was set up jointly by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) of India and the State Government of Andhra Pradesh, in 2002 for promotion of International Post Graduate Diploma Courses in Insurance / Risk Management(Regular and Distance learning) . International School of Actuarial Sciences (ISAS) opened on 6th August 2007 leading to a Post Graduate Diploma in Actuarial Sciences.IIRM aims to serve the learning and developmental needs of emerging markets in the context of their contemporary challenges in Insurance sector.

IIRM is the only dedicated Institution for education in the financial services sector which includes Insurance, Actuarial Science and allied areas in the World. It is unique in character as the Institute is promoted by the Regulator with the sole aim of developing the required work force for Finance and Insurance sector. The Institute offers education through regular and distance modes.

The Institute offers a 2 year PGDM Masters Level Program approved by AICTE. This course is aimed at providing students the necessary inputs in General Management subjects and domain knowledge in the areas of Financial Services, Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Analytics, and Pension Fund Management etc. The candidate can choose specialization in Finance/ Financial Services/ Insurance/ Risk Management/ Marketing/ HR/ Actuarial Science or Business Analytics.

The Institute’s one year PG Programs in Insurance (General, Life, Risk Management) &Financial Services has been in existence for over a decade. On successful completion of the course (IPGD), candidates get opportunities to be absorbed in Insurance Companies, Banks, IT and other related Companies.

IIRM launched a one year program PGDA&AS to promote Analytics and Actuarial Science. The Course has good job potential in the entire financial services and IT sectors.

The institute’s one year PG Program in Actuarial Science in addition to other courses titled PGDAS is well accepted by the Insurance Industry. The subjects taught include Financial Mathematics, Finance and Finance Reporting, Probability and Mathematical Statistics, Models, General Insurance, Life and Health Contingencies, Statistical Methods, Business Economics and Financial Economics.
