Established in 1950, the college is the brainchild of Late Raja Bankatlal Gopikishan Badruka who mooted the idea of starting a college of commerce. Later, it was affiliated to the Osmania University. Within two years, the college was upgraded to a degree college., With a view to filling the dearth of qualified professionals in the field of international business, Badruka Institute of Foreign Trade (BIFT) was established in October 2001, under a Memorandum of Understanding with Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi., Established in 1963 by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, IIFT is rated as the best management school in international business and enjoys the status of a 'Deemed University'., During 1958-59, Badruka Evening College came into being. In the year 1964, the College shifted its campus to Kachiguda. In 1971, Telugu medium was introduced in the B Com course. The Badruka College PG Centre was established in 1984-85 and PG Diplomas in various subjects were started., The College started vocational courses from the academic year 1997-98. Late Shri K N Acharya (then Principal) and Dr Boorugula Rama Krishna Rao, the then Chairman of the Governing Council of the College Management, were instrumental in acquiring the Kachiguda property which houses the college today.
