Located in ATDC has a vast pool of over 500 qualified & experienced faculty members with a whole range of domain expertise in covering most of critical skill intensive areas of textile-apparel value chain.The ATDCs render yeomen service to the downstream Apparel export and domestic industries having trained over 2, 00,000 candidates in entry-level trade courses under ISDS of MOT, GOI since 2010 as a Component I implementing agency and also about 1 lakh candidates in longer-duration Vocational courses since 1996 thus rendering benefits to nearly 1 million family members of the candidates who have received wage employment in apparel units post ATDC-training. The National Placement Cell of ATDC through State/ Regional& National Level Rozgar Melas and Meets have been able to place 60%-70% of candidates in wage employment with about 10%-15% of candidates taking up self-employment., ATDC has been availing of direct funding / bridge funding towards its various training projects from Central and State government departments/agencies like Ministry of Textiles (ISDS), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (PMKVY), National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC), National Safai Karamcharis Finance and Development Corporation (NSKFDC), National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC), & PSU’s like Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) etc. ATDC has been honored with Best Vocational Training Provider 2016 – Gold by ASSOCHAM, ‘Best Training Institution of the year-National’ by Franchise India along with ‘Best Institute: Innovation 2015’ by ASSOCHAM, Best Vocational Training Provider 2014 by ASSOCHAM, and the most significant ‘UK-India Skills Forum Award’ in 2011. ATDC pursues skills-excellence in an integrated manner by creating a “step ladder-training eco-system” with clear focus on “Skilling of Aspirational Indian youth especially women for wage & self-employment” for the downstream Apparel Sector which has the maximum potential for employment generation, especially to revive rural economy.”, Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC), under the aegis of AEPC has emerged as India’s Largest Vocational Training Network for the Apparel Sector with around 175 ATDCs including 65 ATDC Vocational Institutes and over 135 ATDC- SMART Centres and Skill Camps present in major Apparel clusters spread across 22 states & 85 cities Pan India., The Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC) was registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act 1860 on February 15, 1991 at New Delhi with the mission to upgrade the technical skills of the human resources employed in the Garment Industry., ATDC is Indian Apparel Sector’s preferred source for skilled shop floor workforce and different tiers of professional in profiles such as * Sewing Machine Operator * Pattern Engineer *Machine Technicians/ Mechanics, * Surface Ornamentation Specialists * Apparel Production Supervisors * Quality Controllers * Industrial Engineers, etc., ATDC has already trained 1, 73,241 Trainees (1996-March,2015) has transformed lives by providing gainful employment to youth, women & disadvantaged sections of the society and in particular over the pilot project period of ISDS, MOT, GOI since October 2010 (till Dec 2013) above 1,00,000 candidates have been enrolled and over 75% have been placed in the apparel industry with 45% in large & SME and also 25-30% in domestic industry units /self-help group and the rest for self-employment..
