Intially this college was started in the name of Women's polytechnic with two courses "Civil and ECE" near Janaki Ram mills at sakthi nagar in Rajapalayam. The college served for 18 years under this name. After that in 2003, it has been changed to the name 'N.A. Manjammal polytechnic college' with two additional courses EEE and Mech both are co-educational also. Now it is running with around 800 students and 52 staffs. The Founder, Shri N.A.Ramachandra Raj a established - N.A.Ramachandra Raja Charity Trust" in the year 1964 to fulfill the educational and social needs of the people of this part of the country. The Trust established a Higher Secondary School in Courses Offered in the year 1964 under the name and Style of "N.A.Annappa Raja Memorial Higher Secondary School" at Rajapalayam, which is a landmark of this town and noted academic excellence and discipline. Further it has also established an Elementary School in the year 1983 in the name of “N.A.
