Elumalaiyan Polytechnic College was established in the academic year 2007 – 2008 by sri Mahalakshmi Educational Trust, Cuddalore. It is situated on the Mayiladuthurai – Thiruvarur main bus route in Thiruvarur District. The location of this college is 13Km from Mayiladuthurai and 25Km from Thiruvarur.This college offers 3 year Diploma Engineering courses in Co-education mode for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering and Information Technology.The intake for current academic year is 420 and a total 1260 students comprising of 1210 boys and 50 girls are studying.Elumalaiyan Polytechnic College, was established in the year of 2007. Sports facilities are available in the campus. Annual Sports event is held in the month of December in every year
The college has more than 3 buses which are made available to the students and the faculty members for commuting from various points in the city. All students should make use of the college. This facility has made it possible to start the classes in time and thereby helping the academic process. Our bus facilities have enabled us to maintain discipline among students.
All the buses reach the Campus before 8.30 a.m. The buses leave the campus at 5.00p.m., which helps all the students to reach home early and safely.
The college provides Excellent Hostel Facilities. The Institute has magnificently designed separate hostels for boys and girls each with all modern facilities, for boarding and other recreational activities. The hostels have their own mess to provide good and hygenic food to the students.
Proper healthcare arrangements are done by college. Proper Medical Facilities are available

Our college has two Conference Halls. All halls are equipped with the latest teaching aids like LCD projector, slide projector and over head projector. Conference halls are for conducting guest lectures symposiums, seminars, placement Training programs, etc.
Educational cassettes are also projected in these theatres in consultation with subject staff
To enrich the practical knowledge of the students, the college insist the students to offer the in-plant training.In this training, students will have to study a problem in industrial perspective and submit the reports to the college.The training period will be 4 to 6 weeks.Generally the students will go for their in plant training during their semester vacations.Such in plant training will provide an industrial exposure to the students as well as to develop their career in the high tech industrial requirements.

A large Mess Hall with a capacity of all members to dine at the same time enables all students and staff to have lunch and breakfast. A large modem kitchen with steam cooking is attached to the mess hall. A modem bakery and ice-cream making unit are attached to the mess. There is a separate floor one each for Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian in the Mess Block to dine.
